Just wondering what people think i.e the Mill folding, if a team can be found for the B league who would we promote to keep the leagues balanced. Personally I would promote pennies A, I know you have to start in the B league etc but no disrespect to the others in the B division pennies A will walk that as they are a top division A side with the players they have. Discuss?

If the Mill does pull out - I don't think that Pennies should be "fast-tracked" to the A league - Personally I'm surprised that you, as a committee delegate has even suggested it.
I think it is very disrespectful to the other teams in the B league - but not in the way you were suggesting.
Worst comes to the worst - the A League will need to operate with 9 teams - although that's not ideal either.
Incidentally -
Why do you think that promoting ANY b league team to the a league would help "keep the leagues balanced"?
As far as i can see - we started off with 2 x leagues of 10..... Didnt we?

Have to agree with Dazza, you cant promote a new team straight to the A League on the basis they will romp
the B League, the fact the league is up and running you have to operate with 9,it happened last season in both leagues with the
Corner Pocket B and the Crown from Boness...

If a new team can be found to come into the B league (where were they prior to AGM), there is no way that Pennies A should be promoted into the A league - this would make a total mockery of the FDPL. Both Corner Pocket B and ourselves, the Bridge Inn, have had to over the past few years start in the B league and work our way up. Why should it be any different for Pennies A ?
Whilst Pennies A may well win the B league, the Bridge Inn are definitely not playing for 2nd place - I cannot understand any team that thinks this way. Whoever does win the league and gain promotion, are going to have worked for it just as previous teams have had to.
There has been a precedent set a couple of years ago when the then losing play-off team, the Mill Inn, were re-instated to the A league - albeit prior to the start of the season. On this basis, the Bridge Inn should be the team "promoted".

Learn better grammar Sting.
Your wrote:

Now if you had wrote:
"if a NEW team can be found for the B league, who would we promote to keep the leagues balanced?"
Then the meaning of your post would have been a lot clearer...
I read it the way it was written. More fool me.

If I had known you had that Brian - I wouldn't have been setting as close to you at the AGM....
Its very unusual circumstances to be sure and its good that Brian and Co want to continue playing in the league.
Always good craic wit the boys.
If it takes an EGM to allow these guys to all join the Railway and they are being prevented from doing so on a technicality then so be it.
Be surprised if anyone objects.
The Crown would be happen to second a call for an EGM - IF IT IS DEEMED TO BE REQUIRED under the current circumstances.
