Just a quick heads up from the AGM, nobody else was willing to do it so I've put my name forward to replace Graham as the IM rep. Hopefully you will all give me a fair crack of the whip, I know I'm not going to please everybody but I'll try my best. I'm going to put a few ideas on here and take on board your opinions cos I understand this is new to me and I'm not guaranteed to get everything right.
1. Speak to Rusty and Davy Anderson with regards to sponsorship for hosting IM qualifiers. I don't want them to get into a bidding war or anything daft like that but we have 2 good pool halls in Falkirk so both deserve a chance to host qualifiers and the more funds we can get into the pot the less it will cost the players.
2. Midweek qualifiers - depending on how many members we get it may be an option to have qualifiers during the week as I know it's tough to get weekends off if you're a shift worker.
3. IM qualifying tournaments for grassroots players - players can pay £3 to enter a tourney where the winner gets entered into the IMs for that year.
4. Spot the teams - I will sell a spot the team at every IM qualifier to help raise superleague funds, it was also discussed at the AGM that all league teams could donate one of their spot the teams to superleague but not sure if it was agreed.
5. Qualifiers well in advance - obviously I can't promise this cos it depends what dates are available but as soon as I know when the finals of each IM will be I will get our qualifiers arranged.
Scott Rae has told me he will find out by the registration meeting on the 15th August when we need to confirm/pay for next years IMs. As soon as I know this I'll start taking names.
A couple of quick points -
I'm not chasing anyone for money - if you don't hand your money into the CP then your name doesn't go in and you lose priority for superleague selection.
When you enter IMs I'll make sure I get your phone number so I can remind you of deadlines etc but the rest is up to you.
Now obviously I've only had a few days to think about this so there will be things I've missed/not thought of so feel free to put any suggestions on here, I'm not going to shoot them down cos I appreciate the help.
Cheers.

Hopefully with the new IM/Superleague tie in the numbers will get back to where they once belong.
Some good ideas I would suggest an IM database with contact details for every player.
The tournaments are a good idea but why not have different criteria for each one. For example- current IM members (minus seeds), players who have never qualified, killer pool for IM place. 14-1, speed pool etc £1 a go.
I'm pretty positive the IM dates are available until 2015.

Can't get on the new site so I'll put this on here for now.
I really want to keep the qualifying things to grassroots players cos in my opinion people who are A team regulars and are basically guarantees to be selected should just pay the money. The only way I'd have a qualifier involving A team players is if it was only A team players they were up against.
Also I'm not sure how much time we will have to run all these qualifiers as at this stage I'm not sure when the entries have to be confirmed.

Fair play to Hutton - I mean the guy does take a fair bit o stick (not unlike myself :-) ) but he has the start of a number of decent ideas that should likely benefit the people who wish to play FDPL IMs.
Weel done son.
